  • Director of Engineering at Yahoo!

    o Responsible for the set of new platforms used to acquire, enrich and serve all content powering Y! Media experiences (News, Sports, Finance, ...). More than 100 sites were successfully migrated from legacy architectures to these new platforms in less than 1 year. o Led the development of a key-value store with strong SLAs in term of scalability (10TB of memory storage) and performance (over 5,000 requests/s served in 10ms on average) to serve all Y! Media content. o Led the development of a grid computing platform based on a 900 nodes Hadoop cluster to process and enrich all Y! Media content before serving. o Led the development of the world biggest HBase cluster (900 nodes) to store and mine a copy of the web crawl (40B documents) provided by Microsoft Bing. This web crawl data is used by Y! scientists to develop highly relevant experiences. o Led the development of a vertical crawling infrastructure to enable Y! engineering groups to perform deep crawl of specific sites and enrich their experiences. o Led the development and initiated the redesign of the Geo platform used to provide location information relevant to any piece of content, ad or user query served at Y!.
